Top Five Stephen King Adaptations
(Just as I haven’t read every Stephen King book, I haven’t seen every Stephen King adaptation, but these are my top five, in order of preference.)
The Mist (directed by Frank Darabont, 2007)*
Stand by Me (directed by Rob Reiner, 1986)
The Dead Zone (directed by David Cronenberg, 1983)
The Shining (directed by Stanley Kubrick, 1980)
Carrie (directed by Brian De Palma, 1976)
* The Shawshank Redemption, IMDb’s longstanding Top Rated Movie, is great, too, but if I had to pick one Darabont adaptation, it would be The Mist.
