Top Five Kerascoët Graphic Novels

(Kerascoët is the pen name for the French husband-and-wife graphic novelists Marie Pommepuy and Sébastien Cosset, who work collaboratively with each other and with outside writers. Their work is amazing, and Beautiful Darkness, in particular, is my favorite comic of the last decade. Here are my top five of the books they’ve illustrated, in order of preference.)

  1. Beautiful Darkness (by Fabien Vehlmann and Kerascoët)

  2. Satania (by Fabien Vehlmann and Kerascoët)

  3. Miss Don’t Touch Me (by Hubert and Kerascoët)

  4. Beauty (by Hubert and Kerascoët)

  5. Paper Dolls [a lavish oversized retrospective of Kerascoët’s work to date]
