(Between 1984 and 1991, Ambitious Lovers released three albums—Envy, Greed, and Lust—which offered a strange combination of Prince-like white-boy funk and Sonic-Youth-like guitar noise, with occasional Portuguese samba and soft folk interludes. They were overlooked in their moment and are almost completely forgotten today. These are my ten favorite songs they recorded, in order of preference.)
